RESEARCH NETWORKS

The Lamprou Lab involves in the following COST Actions and UKRI Research Networks

EUROPEAN NETWORK FOR SKIN ENGINEERING AND MODELING

Netskinmodels

In the proposed COST Action NETSKINMODELS, interdisciplinary and intersectoral research and coordinated initiatives drive the development and validation of standout sophisticated cell-based and computational skin models, including the development of artificial intelligence models for dermatological research.

EUROPEAN NETWORK FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF ANTIBIOTIC-RESISTANT BACTERIAL INFECTIONS

EURESTOP

The Action combines disciplines such as chemistry, physics, bioinformatics, genetics, biology, immunology, and medicine in understanding the genetic and molecular bases of bacterial drug resistance, developing innovative diagnostic tools, and delivering lead/pre-clinical candidates, antibody-based therapies, and clinical-ready repurposed drugs towards the personalized treatment of drug-resistant bacterial infections.

THE EUROPEAN NETWORK ON OSTEOARTHRITIS

NetwOArk

The main aim of EU-netwOArk is to set up the European Society for Osteoarthritis (EUSOA), with three major stakeholder groups; patients, clinicians and researchers, both from academia and industry. The areas to be addressed in this Action are Primary prevention, Diagnostics, Treatment, Interaction (comorbidities) and Care Management. The EU-netwOArk aims to boost new scientific breakthroughs on these five main OA themes.

BIOACTIVE EFFECTIVE SURFACE FOR TRANSPORT NETWORK

BEST

Antimicrobial bioeffective surfaces (i.e. surfaces that kill/limit microorganisms) offer a great potential, but for effective use in the transport sector, a holistic approach between the transport industry, academics and other industries involved in the various disciplines regarding antimicrobial materials (e.g. advanced materials, microbiology, engineering, chemistry), as well as policy and decision makers is required. It is this knowledge exchange gap that this proposed network would fulfill.

UK DESIGN FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING NETWORK

Design for AM

The purpose of the EPSRC Design for AM Network is to connect the wider UK Design for AM academic research community alongside those in the industry that are experienced practitioners of additive manufacturing technologies, such that we can benefit from sharing knowledge, developing research themes and working collaboratively to ensure that Design for AM is given the best platform possible.

ORGAN-ON-A-CHIP TECHNOLOGIES NETWORK

OOAC

The UK Organ-on-a-Chip Technologies Network was established in 2018 to represent the UK community of scientists, industrialists, clinicians, funders and regulators working in the area of organ-on-a-chip technology. Members of the network have been working together to develop this emerging technology and overcome the challenges in order to deliver the transformative potential impact of organ-on-a-chip technology.
